Stop Motion Tricks, a Treat

It’s becoming an annual tradition. With Halloween just around the corner, our freshmen group of Graphic Design and Communications students have entertained us, yet again, with four stop motion animations. The groups were given a DSLR, a box of markers and a clean canvas with which to tell us a tale. They learned very quickly how many images were needed (300, give or take) to create a simple 30 second animation. Details and movement were a challenge, but many expressed an interest in doing an encore at some point. Based on what they learned this first time around, it would be an interesting proposition to consider.
